We recommend that you keep the medication in its outer box in the fridge.
Be sure to inject at the same time each day. You can inject into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm—rotating sites to avoid irritation.
Understanding your insulin syringe

Measuring your dose
Insulin syringes are used for subcutaneous injections. They are marked in Units on the insulin syringe barrel (see illustration). Insulin syringes facilitate the precise measurement of tiny amounts of liquids which are ideal for medications such as insulin that require small and accurate dosing. Unit marks are also expressed in mL’s and can be interchangeably referenced. A prescriber may write a prescription in Units or in mL’s.
Within the amount of liquid is the prescribed mg dosage of your medication (see mg chart). Milligrams (mg) is not an amount of liquid, but rather the amount of drug that is within. The conversion between units and milligrams varies depending on the concentration of the product being used.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Generic Liraglutide?
Generic Liraglutide is a once-daily injectable GLP-1 medication that helps reduce appetite, support weight loss, and improve metabolic health. It’s often prescribed off-label for weight management.
How quickly will I see results?
Most people notice reduced appetite within 7–10 days. Weight loss typically begins within the first month and continues to improve over time with consistent use, healthy habits, and proper dose adjustment.
Can I switch to Liraglutide if I don’t tolerate weekly GLP-1s?
Yes. Some people prefer daily dosing due to fewer side effects or a better routine fit. Your provider can help determine if Liraglutide is a good alternative.
What are the potential side effects?
Mild nausea is common when increasing your dose, but it usually improves with time. Eating smaller meals, staying hydrated, and gradually adjusting your dose can help. Your provider may also recommend anti-nausea support if needed.
How is Liraglutide taken and stored?
Liraglutide is injected once daily under the skin—typically in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm—using a pre-filled pen. It should be refrigerated when you receive it and stored according to the instructions provided.
How is Liraglutide different from other GLP-1 medications?
Liraglutide is a daily injection, while others like Semaglutide are taken weekly. Some patients prefer the routine and flexibility of a daily option, especially when starting treatment or adjusting their dose gradually.
Is Victoza FDA-approved for weight loss?
Victoza (Liraglutide) is FDA-approved for reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke in adults with Type 2 diabetes and heart disease. While not specifically FDA-approved for weight loss, it’s commonly prescribed off-label by licensed providers for that purpose.
